In and out of Nagdhunga, Kathmandu – if you are caught in traffic jam, it is normal – if you don’t, you are lucky.
Amidst these daily episodes of traffic jam, there have been numerous government initiatives designed to lessen this persistent issue. However, despite the intentions, these projects have struggled to come into concrete solutions. The state of the main highway connecting to the capital city is nothing short of deplorable, bearing the brunt of years of neglect and lack of proper maintenance.
Adding to this difficulty, the area is spoiled by structures that have been erected in a manner encroaching upon the existing road space, further worsening the traffic problem. The disregard for proper road lane discipline among a considerable number of drivers further compounds the problem, contributing to the chaotic flow of vehicles.
As we look ahead, our hopes remain cautiously optimistic for a better future, allowing for smoother journeys through Nagdhunga and beyond.
